An experience of a lifetime!

CampVika coordinates trips and classes in kayaking, for groups of up to 10 people. Our introductory class will provide you with “Våttkort 1” (Paddlepass level 1) and is at a level that is well suited for most, regardless of previous experience, age, or athletic ability, but we will happily create a class to accommodate specific requests regarding duration, content, or level. This can be discussed and arranged at the time of your registration.

A standard introductory class starts with the theoretical part of the course inside our cozy barn, and will cover topics including safety, technique, equipment, and regulations, before practicing with individual kayaks on land. Then the class will progress to practicing kayak techniques on the water, and then participants will be able to head out for a trip on our beautiful lake.

Before the trip is over, we will cover tipping over as well as various rescue techniques, so participants will get wet! Tipping over in a kayak can be a difficult fear to overcome for many, so we have experienced much excitement and joy from previous participants when they have mastered this ability. Included in the trip is all necessary equipment, such as the kayak, life vest, spray cover, etc.

At the end of the class, most students choose to gather by the fire pit/grill outdoors at our beautiful Vika property, to enjoy a good meal and drinks, as well as distribution of any certificates of completion. This will be arranged at the time of the reservation as well.

Additionally, we offer a two-day class, which would provide you with “Våttkort 2” (Paddlepass level 2). Accommodations for staying overnight are available if necessary.

The cost of the class will depend on what your group requests, but a standard introductory class, including lunch, is 1,700 NOK per person. Minimum cost for a class or a day trip is 15,000 NOK.
